But not a Mach 1. I'll post the Marty Report later. Do I still qualify to be a member ?
This car is a keeper, original Gold Paint, with blackout striping without the engine size, all the Mach 1 options without the Mach 1. I have questions about exhaust outlets and hood locks. My hood has three holes around one larger hole, maybe 3/4 wide. Waht kind of hood looks did this car come with?
Lastly, what 1970 Mustang Fact book, Parts book with details would you suggest?
Your vehicle was equipped with the following features:
- Black Hood Stripe
- Evaporative Emission System
- Traction-Lok Differential
- F70X14 Belted Raised White Letter Tires
- Collapsible Spare Tire
- Shaker Hood Scoop
- Sport Deck Rear Seat
- Power Front Disc Brakes
- Power Steering
- Air Conditioner - SelectAire
- AM Radio
- Intermittent Windshield Wipers
- Decor Group
- Argent Styled Steel Wheels
- Competition Suspension
- Tachometer

Hey Tim, if your hearts rooted in Mach1's, Mustangs, and Fords. Glad to have you, we have several members who have had Mach1's in the past, including myself. And now are rocking something different. It's where your heart is that's important. I've had 3 Mach1's and several Mustangs, and I still own virtually nothing but Fords. Except for my Jacobra! An 89 Jag XJS getting stuffed full of 460 Ford!
So all I can say if your hearts right. Welcome to the Club!

JTS Well, then I'm a new member. I have had many Mustangs and Shelbys in 45 years of playing around with cars. Currently own a 68 Conv 350, 67 Conv k-code and now this 70 M-code.

Well I got the Timothy right. LOL! Good to know you. I'm Jack Thomas Shelby otherwise know as JTS.
The 71 Mach1 comes from my Love of all things Ford, and the 71 Mach1 I purchased from my ex-wife's mother. Yeah don't ask. It was a long time ago, and I was young and dumb. I later found a junkie (brother in-law to a friend of mine) that needed a fix, and he had a 73 Mach1 parts car, and a 351 Cleveland all wrapped in baggies. A few negotiations later, and I had a stack of receipts to go along with the engine totaling a little over $2900.00 in 1979 money. It equated to over 500Hp when I got it put together, and installed it in my 71 Mach1. Man was it a Hoot! It was down right radical for the time.

JTS Love it Jack and nice to meet you. My first car in 1979 was a 68 mustang that I restored, with the help of our high school's auto shop. Since then, I have had 12 Shelby's, Boss 9, 120 different Mustangs. From the first time I sat in a 66 with pony interior, I was 14 and I said, I'm getting one of these. Given up some really incredible cars, but happy to have many of the ones I have restored or resold, all over the world. Kept me sane in the earlier part of Covid.

Sounds like you got to live a dream life I wished I could have. My name may be Shelby but I'm the other side of the family, the side that didn't have any money. LOL! So while I played with cars etc. my whole life. It was on the lower end of the spectrum, I've had 4 Mach1's a bunch of Mustangs, etc, etc, etc. In all over 100 cars, trucks, you name it. Some noteworthy, and some not so much. I'm also into Motorcycles I was the Kawasaki Mechanic in Kankakee Il. at 18 years old. (1978) If it got put together, repaired, or hopped up, I did it. I was riding Litre bikes before they were called Litre bikes! All 150lbs of me (back then). Man what a Blast!!!
