I've heard stories about some pretty quick Mustang 2's back in the day. I imagine with a few little tricks you could make one work pretty well :)

For a healthy amount of cash you could get your 0-60 time into the 7's but the basic motor was low compression, retarded camshaft and timing, with all the early emission equipment which really killed horsepower back then.

I remember test driving two new Ford Mavericks in 1972. One was a 250-1V in-line six and the other the 302-2V. Other than the engine noise when accelerating I could not tell any difference in power. It was for my wife and we ended up getting the V-8 car because she like the color better (LOL).

My 73 Mustang Convertible has the 250-1V in-line six in it. It's easy to work on, but that's all I can say Sadcry

So Mstng2 is that your Mustang? Welcome btw!

These cars obviously didnt get the same respect but you gotta know the Mustang II was Motor Trends car of the year in 74 so it obviously had some things going for it.

I never drove one so I dont know, but as some have seen in some previous posts I considered one at one point. I would love to have a Black and Gold King Cobra with T-Tops.

Thank You, Yes That is one of my II's I currently own 4 of them, 3 of the 4 in one phase of restoration or another. This picture was taken for our Local Mustang Club Calendar.

Very cool! I'm jealous! I'm having a tough time with my wife, I'm wanting another car and shes screaming we cant afford another car. Shes right, but if the right one comes along I'm on it!
