He has lots of issues where he is that he is dealing with on a daily basis so he doesn't have the time to get on the forum. He lives in a very different world to the rest of us, but on a positive note he has just been able to purchase a 68 coupe that needs very little to get on the road.
Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear he if feeling better.

Welcome Mexicstang!
Glad to have you here! So, I am guessing that the Mustang is in the U.S. now?
I have seen two fastbacks here in Mexico (that were probably Mexican originally) but I did not get to examine them (to report on their door plates) before they were crushed - they were in the Federal Police yard. I really wanted the drivetrain from the "Mach 1" (Q code, top loader) but I didn't know the right people and in trying to make contacts I upset others!
I have seen two other Mach 1's here in Mexico but they were imports from the U.S. so they had the normal VIN and door plates.
So, the Marti Report would be the place to start for sure. This is definitely interesting and will look forward as the story unfolds - keep us in the loop! Of course it appears to be a "fastback" and not a Mach 1 BUT I am not sure how they did things in Mexico. I have read an article on one but that was too far back in my memory!
Enjoy the ride here and in the Mach 1!

Apparently the mexican bought this car in Mexico and drove it to south dakota where he worked for this farmer and ended up get old and passing away in south dakota. So the mustang sat in the farmers barn for years. The farmers son decided to sell it and thats how I got it for $5000 Does a Marti Report have the capability of looking up stuff that was made in mexico? Thank you everyone for your time and advice I really appreciate it. I'm still waiting for the title to come that is in the process with the department of transportation.
Thanks
Shane

Hey Shane - thanks for the added information. I like the story.
I am not sure if the Marti report will be able to do anything for a Mexican made Mustang. I would suggest that you give them a call and ask. the answer will be interesting.
My Dad is from Iowa. Shell Rock. If I were to land in Iowa someday I would consider myself blessed - well, maybe until I froze to death. :)
I have just gone through the process of getting a bonded title for the 1968 Mustang coupe that I picked up out of a towing yard in New Mexico. The VIN on the dash and the door were a match (and that VIN matched the reality of what the car was) so it wasn't too much of a stretch. The biggest "problem" is that they (Arizona in my case) require bond for the restored value of the car (no matter the current condition of the car) times 1.5 which was $31,500. The good part is that bond is about 1% of that so all in all - happy times!
I have done abandoned vehicle titles before but since I do not have my car at my own address (I rent a storage lot) I was not allowed to file for abandoned vehicle. All part of the experience.
Anyway, I will be awaiting word on the outcome of your discovery.

You could try the Ford customer relationship center they might be able to provide a build sheet that might offer some info................ https://mach1club.com/showthread.php?tid=2108

Black Jade - so great to see you post!
How have you been? I now have a 1968!
Sioux City Shane - you all be neighbors! - well only 2 1/2 hours.
Good idea Steve O - maybe Ford Customer Relations may be able to help with the "odd" need of the Mexican build! Hey - and thanks for reaching out to me to make sure that I was still among the living.

Mexistang,
I have family up in that area, hopefully we will see you out cruising some time. Looks like you have a great starting point and unique
car to have some fum with.
Steven,
All good here, other than the camshaft in the 69 decided to start coming apart and started pulling out a couple of rocker studs and sending
metal through the whole engine. So I will post on that when that project is finished. Good to hear you are on the mend.
Did I mention I have a bench seat for 67-68 Mustang?
