Knowing what year and model mustang would help as the earlier care had a steel frame around the windows and the later one simply set into the weather strip cannel affixed to the body. There is usually some adjustment in the window regulator itself, but you'll have to remove the inner door panel to see this. make small adjustments and work your way up to a perfect fit. one bit of caution if you car doesn't have the metal frame around the edge of the glass. Don't hit the exposed edge of the glass with anything steel, tools etc. as it can shatter instantly Good Luck.
