Hello everyone. Yep I'm new here. I am just completing purchase of a 72 Mach 1, and at 63 feel like 16 all over again. Unfortunately for me, the car is 1500 miles away, so I'm a week from seeing it. Yeah, call me crazy, bought sight unseen, except for pictures and video. I know it needs a front bumper, along with some miscellaneous items. Looks like the bumper will be difficult to find. Chrome ones are everywhere, but a Mach painted one, not so much. I will await arrival to unveil the picture, but looking forward to sharing. I should add my first car was a 71 coupe, which Unfortunately is gone. But, funny story, as a high school senior in 76, I test drove a Mach before my coupe, but couldn't afford tge extra $1000. Guess the Mach 1 was meant to be, just not then.

SSig_welcome4 A "72" Mach1 is a cool car, and you are correct the chrome bumper is not a problem. The rubber one in decent condition? Almost non existent. Sight unseen is a hard way to buy any car, I know people do it all the time. Idiots! When buying a 49 year old car it's really tough, as you have to rely on someone else, and their integrity???? Which nowadays all to often proves out to be about as non existent, as the rubber front bumper. That being said I hope you found someone who is honest and truthful, about it. Good Luck hope it's better then they claim. Again Welcome to the Club. Lots of info and good people. Enjoy.

It is missing the front bumper completely.  I got a ton of pictures from the seller, along with a video. I also have a personal friend with a flatbed going to pick it up to verify what is shown in the video is exactly what is being picked up. My flatbed guy also buys and sells a ton of classic cars, so he is instructed to report to me before loading it up. Yes, it's a bit nerve-racking, but this car appears to be everything I always wanted. I'm probably going to just put a chrome bumper on it and be done with it. I know the Boss Mach had a chrome one.

Well that will be a little easier on the mind. Having someone knowledgeable looking at it. As for the bumper, the Chrome won't hurt a thing, and if you ever do run across a good rubber one, Snatch it up! It's probably worth solid gold. I remember several years back a guy on Ebay had a NOS Grille for the 71-72, and wanted I believe $600.00 for the bare grille. I can only imagine what a bumper is worth. Good Luck. Cool
