The second generation Firebirds and Trans-Ams were nice driving cars for daily use. When it comes to those models, I've been partial to the 2nd generation. Looked nice, big enough to be comfortable, reliable daily drivers, and simple by today's standards. I still wouldn't mind one for daily use.

exactly how I feel. I love my Mustangs but I get bored and so I have other cool cars I can afford. They are all eventually for sale.

You understand my issue. I don't know if I am average height or not, 5'-10" and 185 lbs. I have to drive my 69 Mach 1 with the seat all the way back. Still, my left knee has to get wedged between the steering wheel and the door panel to operate the clutch pedal. Plus, I have to wear only a tennis shoe. I cannot navigate the pedals with my work shoes.

Ford must have had a height in mind when designing these cars. I'm curious if anybody knows what that is.

I have a friend who is 6 foot and about the same weight and have never heard him complain about being cramped in the driver's seat. He actually owns a 67 Mustang and has driven my 66 without mentioning anything about wishing they made these cars bigger.

Maybe you guys you would enjoy the large interior of a Fairlane! Looks to be plenty of room inside the cabin.

I think the earlier Mustangs (earlier that 1969) had more leg room. Plus the deluxe seats in the Mach 1's are bulkier. If mine were an automatic trans car, it would seem roomier with only two pedals.

Mike,

That certainly could be true.

By the way, how is your car coming along? Is the transmission back together? My back has is slowing down all work on cars. I felt like I was getting better but this morning reminded me that I am not. I am experiencing awful sciatica pain. I have an MRI on Wednesday.

If I had to choose a Chevy it would be the 69 Camaro.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Steven,

Welcome back! I like the 69 Camaros too but my heart will always be with Fords. Growing up my family only bought Chevy cars and trucks. I have to admit they had good taste when it came to cars. When I became old enough to drive they surprised me with a 70 Monte Carlo, with a bench and 4 speed. How cool is that! I am very happy the 69 Camaro was left to my son. He was very close to his grandfather and is very proud to have this car. The neat thing is it has brought a commonality between us.
