Hurst Shifter Rebuild

Yes, it comes with a trim ring. The holes don't line up with the originals. It's okay if you don't mind new holes to hold down the boot.

Nah...a few extra holes won't bother me. Maybe put a dab of seam sealer over them.

I have to agree with you on the reproduction shift boots. Although they look correct for the car they are not pliable at all. I purchased one and it tore almost immediately. As I mentioned in another post they do sell a plastic insert which is supposed to prevent the boot from tearing. Unfortunately the piece didn't work for me. I am thinking of purchasing a Hurst shift boot. Even though it would have an aftermarket appearance to it I think they are more pliable.

Glad to hear your shifter is working properly.
Wow I am surprised at you guys. Now some of the small local car shows don't have space for a good swap meet, but lucky for me where I live. Suburbs of Philadelphia. I am close to 4 drag strips, they all hold events with swap meets and vendors. Maple Grove raceway two weeks ago hosted the NMRA/Ford motorsport with a big car show and swap meet. at least 2 major manufactures of aftermarket parts and supply's, Dorman, Pypes witch had a two day event this week end ending in a car show and swap meet. MMike I am totally shocked you never heard of Carlisle Ford Nationals | Collector Car Show and Swap Meet. I could go on and on, but a lot happening here this time of year. Just trying to help a fellow MACH 1 owner.
cheers J.

I only know of one big swap meet event in California. It's in Pleasanton California, about 1.5 hours north of me. I've never been to it. And actually, I haven't seen advertisements for it in several years. They just don't seem to be a popular means of buying and selling parts in my area.

That sucks, we have several Car shows and Swap meets around Arkansas. There's one that lasts almost a week. It's the second week of June on Pettit Jean Mountain, in Central Arkansas every year. JTS

Hey J-Cobb,

I definitely know about Carlisle just haven't had the opportunity to make it there yet. Always wanted to go but between work and restoration projects it seems I never find the time for the trip. Plus I have to spend time with wifey too!
