I'm back and as 'single minded' (read loony) as ever.
On Jan 26 I attended our city's firework display to celebrate Australia Day.
At one part attendees are invited to wave their mobile phone torch.
I took a 1700w, 140,00ln  flood light.   Plus, of course, the loudest sound system.
200 people clapped and cheered when I turned the light on.  loads came up to me after and thanked me for my efforts.
Very proud moment.

The daughter's '70 has passed it's Racewars entry so I will be challenging her with my RR Silver Spirit.

Carrying the big light for 2/3 of a mile just for 1 minute of use in 35C heat?  Mad arsed!!

I have got into V12 Jaguar land myself too!  E Type 2+2 manual.   Needs HEAPS of work and $ but who cares?  The result will be worth it.   I will post pictures of everything but writing this at work.

The daughter took the M1 out for a shake-down run prior to RW.  Easily hit 110mph indicated.  I have since re-adjusted the wheel bearings and steering box.  Much better feel now.   I think she will be looking at the Silver Spirit in her rear view mirror!!

Sounds like you got a little wild, and had a good time doing it. I say go for it! As far as the Mach1 whipping the Silver Spirit. A couple hundred horse, shot of Nitrous should level the playing field??? I don't know if that's allowed, but it might get that "Land Yacht" moving pretty good. I'd like to see pics of the XKE, and I'm curious what you had to give, as they have gotten stupid in prices on my side of the big pond.
