Test Lead - Lights, Wipers etc
#1
I made a pair of these up - cost about $8 each.
It / they can be used with a multi-meter or just alone to bypass switches, create an earth path or whatever you need.
I did have the idea to cut the ends at staggered lengths. That way if the ends are hanging they cannot touch each other. If you really want to go over the top then you could put a 30A fuse in an inline holder.
I've used mine a lot and find them very handy. They are both about 6' long - Long enough to reach without being too cumbersome.

Yep, have made several sets over the years. I had to make a sixty foot long jumper to test a rear engine pusher school bus. The shifter had lost communication with the trans controller 60 feet away. After ohm testing the wires as OK. We struggled to figure out why it still wouldn't shift. we found that even though it was ohm testing as good it wouldn't carry a load, as soon as I touched my test light to the wire the ohm's went away. Obviously there was 1 strand of wire holding together. I worked on that bus for 2 and a half days, with an Allison transmission specialist before we got it sorted out. So a good jumper set is an invaluable tool. In several different lengths. JTS 71 Mach1

As much as I am not an electrical system trouble shooter they are very handy to have...Plus by making vs.buying your own set you are not limited in any one length. Nice Job!

As you will see from the dates I have had the leads for some time now.
The feature that 'saved my bacon' several times is the unequal lengths.
They can't touch so they can't short out.  Saves a lot of embarrassment.

I can't say that I have ever gone to the length you have in making a dedicated test lead but I have often made various jumper test leads for the job at hand.

Great work - I need to make an official set.

I have many jumper wires with alligator clips and many others with different end connectors.  They come in handy.  I use to do a lot of electrical troubleshooting when I worked as a technician/mechanic.
