Hi

Im looking for a correct flexplate to match the 351c with FMX tranny.
Is there a Heavy duty one that works ?

Hi

Thanks, will it manage around 400 hp or so ? I found plates from TCI
but I Think its only for c4 and c6.

Maybe this one http://www.magnumperformance.com.au/inde...t&Itemid=2

If you are more concerned with strength than correctness another option is a heavy duty flexplate made by Scat. Below is the product description:

Scat flexplates make excellent upgrades to your stock design. They feature extra-thick steel that's double-welded to the ring gear for added strength and anodized for corrosion resistance. Scat flexplates will withstand the extreme power and rpm of today's engines and are available in SFI-approved or standard applications.

I have seen them advertised at Mustang Unlimited, Summit and Jegs for about $65. I am a 4 speed guy so I can't provide any opinion on quality.

Thanks

But I dont understand sometimes in the ads they say that it will fit FMX and C4 Transmissions, next only C4. Is it the holes in the plate thats different ? Or does a 164th 351c flexplate Always fit fmx and c4's

Your questions are good ones and as I mentioned earlier I am not all that familiar with automatic transmissions. However, I did find a link to another site which may provide an answer to your question or I am sure someone else will chime later on:

I have installed an FMX trans. where there used to be a C-6, and did not have to change the flex plate. I have also installed a C-4 trans. where there used to be an FMX, also without changing the flex plate. I'm no expert on interchangeability, but I'm pretty sure the tooth count is your only hurdle. Swaps were done on 351-C cars (small-block bell housing bolt patterns). Wish I could be of more help, but I'm sure of the above. GXR

Ok , tanks

I found out that the 351w uses the same flexplate as the 351c. Knot its a lot easier to find one.
