Dizzy upgrade

Hello. I am wanting to upgrade my 1971 351c Mach 1 with a Duraspark distributor and get rid of my stock points dizzy. I have purchased a msd 6al ignition and a coil. Has anyone else used this setup? I am thinking a newer dizzy out of a 400m would work. Any advice is appreciated

Yes the 400 uses the same distributor/ dizzy, as well as the 429/460. You can also use the dura spark box and a high performance coil. If you don't want to spend the bucks on the MSD box. Look up Ford dura spark wiring diagram on the internet, and it will show you how to wire it into any Ford. JTS 71 Mach1

I used a 'Sparkrite 2000' on a standard dizzy but with the advance slot filed out a few degrees and all the slack taken out of the bob-weight springs. Cheap good mod I thought.
