Here we go. I'm going to start the tear down today. It has some rust, bad repairs, good repairs, needs driver side floor pan, bondo on driver side is junk, interior is bad with wrong seats.

I will be upgrading the motor, rear and front suspension, Transmission, full tear down on the body and frame. The interior will be black when I'm finished. I'm putting the refinished stock seats, new dash pad, door panels, and headliner in but the cluster and carpeting will be modified. I will be adding my personal touches to the body's metal and bumpers.

I'll add photo's when I learn how to shrink them down to fit on here.

My pictures are really hard to upload. So I'll start making Youtube videos and adding the links. On my pictures, I'm having to screen shot each of them and some still are too much to upload on here. Sorry in advance.

Lesson #1 to finish a project, you must first start a project. Good Luck!, we'll help all we can. JTS 71 Mach1

Here in Shirley, Ar. we have had a very mild winter until a week ago.lol I started this project 2 weeks ago. Have not got much done since it started snowing and icing and my propane sales have picked up. So I've stayed in and been working on some of my RV Park projects. I've been upholstering chairs and tables. Which has inspired me on some interior of the Mach 1.SCo_hmmthink

I cleaned out the cowl, that someone has filled with great stuff foam to block water. What a fun job that was. I discovered a rust hole in a popular place by the raised vent tube. I believe I can fix it without buying a new cowl. It's pretty minor. I wasn't able to load the picture with all the foam in it. Too Big.

Thanks for the pictures and posts and letting us follow your build. I have been actively tearing my 1973 down for about two months and am about ready to yank the motor and tranny. I am excited to follow your progress.

On an aside I must say I love this site--it has already proven so helpful, but also it is just great to check out what other mustang owners are doing to their cars. My car is rusted away quite honestly (most people would probably say trash it) but the restoration for me, like many others on this site I imagine, is about the experience and knowledge that you restored that car yourself, and made it exactly how you wanted it. After years of dreaming it is amazing to actually be out there in the garage, turning wrenches on my own mustang. This site is cool because it is narrowly focused to our cars and people are active and friendly. For those responsible I appreciate your efforts.

Yes, the encouragement and insight from others involved in the same work is always so beneficial.
