Thanks for lesson/advice on welding around the gas tank. I ended up welding my quarter panels to the trunk drop off panels when I changed quarter panels on my car and decided not to remove the gas tank. All went well (knock on wood) but I must admit was nervous as heck about it being so close to the gas tank.
And here's to paying for airfare to Mexico to visit Steven!!

Amen is right...I may not have blown up but at least three times ended up at the optometrist having metal removed from eye and suffered countless burns and cuts. It may be my inexperience but I fully know what they mean by blood, sweat, and gears!
Another recommendation, from experience, is when welding is be careful of rags/towels with Prep All on them....highly, highly flammable and hard to put out once they ignite!

Another good thought, as a lot of the chemicals we use, besides gasoline are extremely flamable!
