Hi, I want to introduce myself. My Name is Sergio Sanchez and I’m from Guadalajara Mexico.
I’m a 33 Year old man and I have been living in Montgomery Alabama since I was 15 years old. Here is my Mach 1 story and how I become a lover on these cars.
When I was a little boy back in 1989 my friends dad that was my neighbor he went for vacation and drove a 1971 Green Mach1 and since the minute I saw that car I felt in love instantly. My friend’s dads stay there for over two months and he had to go back to the US. Well I can tell you that I use to go and see that car almost every day of those two months that he was there. I beg my friend to tell his dad to take us around the block and he did. That day is when I promised myself that I would own one of those Mach 1 cars.
I came to the US when I turn 15 and had to become an adult at the age of 17 become an adult with a kid and responsibilities had to become firs and two more kids later. So you can only imagine that my dreams of owning an old car went down the toilet. Now my kids are grown and I’m still very young to enjoy my cars.
I was able to make my dream reality 4 years ago when I purchased my 1973 Mach 1 and start working on it. I wanted this car to be very special so we strip it all the way down and did a complete restoration on it. Here is few pictures I hope that you guys enjoy them.
Now as an adult I’m not a ford person and I don’t even like mustangs, I’m a Pontiac guy and I have 3 Firebirds and that’s what I love the must but my hart always will me in the 71-73 Mach1 cars.
I’m currently working on my 2012 Camaro SS converting it on a 2012 Trans am concept car because Trans am’s are my passion. I have to tell you when I go to car shows I only take my mach one and there has never been a show that I don’t win one trophy. My wife also has felt in love with the Mach1, out of all my cars that’s the only one that she loves the must.
I hope that introduction was not to long but I wanted to share how much I love the 71-73 mach1 and they meant so much in my life and not just as a car but a part of me and a beautiful dream that I has as a child.
