Hi, I don't have a '69 so I wont pretend I know BUT do look in wreckers for those odd, original nuts, bolts, washers, screws, and clips. Models from the same year often used the same (small) parts and wreckers (once you get to know them) just give those bits away or charge minimal $. They are also a good source of plugs, sockets and original colour wires. Again they seem glad to get rid of those parts.

Everyone, thanks for the help and Bob, Thanks a bunch for the pictures, measurements and effort. This verifies what I had seen on here and other sites. I thought I was going to be drilling a hole and using a grommet but as you confirmed and I had trouble believing, it's an open "square" hole. I am glad I waited to see what you came up with before I took the local advise and "just drill a big hole". Thanks again!
