Hello My name is Mike and I am a new member here. I am from Brick NJ (shore area) and have a 1970 Mach 1. Its a bit of an odd ball with a windsor 2bb shaker, but still turns heads. Sadly about a month ago I was in an accident and my baby is in the shop. It will get the paint job I never wanted as it had beautiful patina and a great life story. I hope to help and learn all that I can here and am a purist at heart but also appreciate tasteful modifications.

Welcome Mike.
Sorry to hear about the accident but glad to hear that your okay and that the car can and is being repaired.
How long have you owned the car?
I lean toward purist but would have to consider myself more like a day one owner.
Enjoy the site.

Mike Sad to hear your Mach1 got tore up. I hope it was the other guys fault. Hope they do a good job on the repairs, especially since it's a antique, classic, Mach1. Lots of good people and info here. Jump in anytime. JTS 71 Mach1

Welcome Mike, I am sorry to hear about the accident...every classic car owner's worst nightmare. I am with you, I also love old cars with nice patina paint so I completely understand when you say the "paint job you never wanted". Looking forward to hearing and learning more about your 70 Mach1.
Thanks for jumping on board with us!

Wow, First I would like to thank all of you for the comments and concerns.
Yes most important ly no one was hurt. A lady turned from the opposite way to make a left in front of me and I had little time to react, so I clipped her with the front passenger side. Ill post some pics later after I figure how to. I picked her up 2 years ago from a car flipper in Calif. The story is that My car was built for a seviceman in Va. From there he was transfered to California where it stayed most of its life. From there to Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Sat for 12 years and a car flipper brought it to California and then I brought her back home to Jersey. Its not a high dollar car but still gets lots of respect and looks wherever she is. I completely rebuilt the suspension and upgraded the 4 wheel man. drum to power disc so she drove Soooo Nice! I know that I'll lose the summer but with this work being done, I will shell out a few bucks and complete the look to be so shinny and pretty. I had hagardy and thus far am happy but still eager to have my pony back in the stable and available for use. My motto is "you can't take it with you."
