Wow, thanks for all of the kind words, Mike, Jade and Steve! This is a very interesting and positive website. I must admit, I was hesitant to join it at 1st as my experiences on other sites like this have not been as pleasent. Many people just want to complain and criticize other members. As I believe that this is supposed to be a fun hobby, I will have none of that kind of thing.

As far as changing the electronic ignition and repositioning the shaker properly, I may do that but it's not at the top of my list. Maybe during our long Canadian winter I'll get to it but I must admit I like the performance and convenience the electronic ignition brings. The car does get a fair bit of attention up here, of course the shaker is a big hit as is the colour. I thought 23K was ridiculously cheap as well....up here its 30-35K all day long. I'll be keeping this one though.

Here is that K code that I restored. I literally found it in a barn 30 minutes from my home. I got the complete history of the car including the original bill of sale and restored the car over a two year period. It lives in Connecticutt now. Here are some pics. I put some genuine Shelby upgrades on it. What a neat car.

Thanks for the compliments on the feel of our site.

Every now and then we have some attitude stop in but thankfully the mainstay folks are great. That and collectively they have a lot of knowledge.

Wow - what a nice K-code. What a find.

I think you have done very well in your purchase but my opinion doesn't cost anything and you have gotten what you paid for.Biggrin

Holy K-ow!! What a find that was..and you made the Rare Finds section of Mustang Monthly (my favorite section of the entire magazine) that is awesome! Well, I live in Connecticut so maybe one day I will see the car personally. Unfortunately, my only hope of owning a K-code is to build my T-code to do the same thing Thmbsup That's called dreamin!

By way of the hoses in the last picture, is it fair to say there are 3 deuces under that air cleaner and was that what the car came with? Second, can you load a pdf copy of the article, I would love to read it?

I am sorry to hear some of the other sites are not so friendly. Must be the "Oval" size egos of Mustang ownership. Like Steve says, the mainstay guys here are great.

Great pictures;thanks for sharing!

Here is a 1966 Shelby GT350, its a "carry over car" number 122 I believe. It lives here in Abbotsford a few miles from where I live. The owner, Dennis Friesen, (deceased), owned the local Ford dealership and bought the car new in 1966. My dad bought all of his Fords from him, sadly no Shelbys. In 1967 this car used to drive past me as I walked to Grade 1. When I had spare time, I used to hunt around town on my bicycle to try and find the thing. Eventually I did and I would visit it every Saturday that I could. Remember, we had no video games, internet, cells phones etc back then so life was good. In 2012 I was driving my gold K code around town when I was pulled over by Dennis who recognized the car from 1967 when it would race at a local drag strip. the next day.....45 years after I saw it the first time, I drove that very car. Dennis has passed away now but I blame him for my love of Mustangs. Rest in Peace Dennis.

Thank you so very much for sharing the story - your story.

Sadly I can't claim to have been born a Ford die-hard but as the saying goes, "I got here as soon as I could."

I haven't owned mine since new but I own them now!

Now I see why you are pleased with the car....it looks awesome and it has a shaker and it's a 4 speed too!! Did the car come from the factory with the shaker hood and does it have the tachometer dash?

Thanks Mike for helping out!! I've also upgraded your account to Moderator, so now you have some extra privileges! Thanks again! SSig_goodjob
