Hello all. I am a long time Mach 1 owner (in fact, I "started" the restoration of my 72 Mach 1 over 8 years ago). I'm wrapping up a long painful rotisserie / bare metal, nut and bolt restoration of this odd car. The car was lime green and rusty when I bought it from its original owner, and upon disassembly and investigation, learned that it had at least been to the back dock of a Shelby shop where it obtained many of the Shelby Europa parts from that ill fated short lived program. We've been working with the european contingent of the Shelby club for years now, verifying the components and working to make sure the car is right. We were barely tolerated at first, but they've been very helpful and cooperative the more they realized the amount of genuine Shelby components and work that this car had received early in the day, and we are nevertheless restoring the car as a properly equipped and presented Shelby Europa, albeit one that was never fully homologated through the project as it never made it to Belgium. Still, an interesting part of this model's history, and certainly a pretty car in my opinion. Looking forward to sharing it with your community in the coming few months. Cheers! Chris in NJ
