These guys are right in my opinion.
Take that old crap carb and box it.
Get a brand new one.
Note: The Edlebrocks have a hard time routing the fuel lines as the fuel rails are on the far pass side. They are nice an all but shaped funny and have a hard fitment with the stock air cleaner without a riser under the carb.
I just did a Holly 850 Double Pumper and had it jetted way down for High Altitude here in Denver.
Pat Ganahal wrote a bible on Ford engines way back when and I read his secrets to unleashing all sorts of power by the carb changes.
Mine has the increased flow dynamics of larger venturis (openings) but the restrictions of the way smaller jet sizes to limit over fueling way up here in Denver.
There are other members bhere that can give a good pitch on what they are using as far as carb and sizes for you to read on I am sure. Good looking car though.
Make it your own I say because it seems like only the old farts want the concourse cars any more. The younger generation all want fuel injection, serpentine belt drive, A/C and Tilt wheel with the more modern front seats. It seems like no one cares much about those Concourse show cars any more nor survivor cars because they look terrible unless thay have been garaged and waxed once a year. The new generation wants resto-mods and pay big bucks for them.
(4 Wheel disc breaks with the hydroboost rule) .
Heck if I could go independent rear suspension I would on mine its just expensive.
Just an opinion of course.
I took my original 70 Mach 1 mustang and put in a 4 barrel manifold, A/C (which it never had)
Tilt steering column (which it never had) and the rare map lights and trunk lights, rear louvers, front spoiler, and shaker assembly (all OEM FORD) that my car never came with.
The best was the 4 wheel brakes with the hydroboost set up.
It never came this way from from Ford but what a nice improvement.
I used all OEM original ford Parts to do it except for the intake Manifold.
