1970 Mustang Mach 1, Metuchen, built 11/20/1969. 351C-4V, Dark Ivy Green Metallic, Black Interior, 3.00 standard (now Limited Slip), FMX Trans. Options: White Hood Stripe, Dual Paint Stripe (did not put back on), Convenience Group, F70x14 w RWL's, Shaker Hood Scoop, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Air Conditioner - Selectaire, AM Radio (now factory AM/FM), Tinted Glass - Complete, Tachometer. We bought this car 5 1/2 years ago in pieces, it is now nearing completion to being restored to original condition. Has the correct engine, but not VIN matching. Replaced sheet metal: quarters, outer wheel houses, full floor, trunk drop-offs, doors, front fenders, hood, rear front inner fenders where hinges bolt, all from Dynacorn. Everything else has been either replaced with a combination of NOS, reproduction, or good used originals.

Welcome.
Wow - sounds like a wonderful example lovingly brought back from the brink of extinction!
Have you had other Mach 1's? Is this your first restoration?
Jump on in and enjoy the site. Great to have you with us. Feel free to share more of you and your Mach 1's story. I would love to see your example of Dark Ivy Green metallic.

First complete restoration and the first and last that I will do to take a car all the way back to original. We're doing the car mostly by ourselves, paint (exterior and interior) was done professionally, seats were recovered professionally and so were the dash pieces re-chromed. It has cost a ton of money. In hind-sight buying a car in pieces to restore to original, based on the seller's word that everything was there, was naïve. Initiation fee to the restoration car world I guess. I talked my dad into buying this car and restoring it. He had one that he bought as a repo in 1970. That car was Dark Ivy Green, 351W 2-V, Shaker, black stripe, 4 speed, green interior, dealer installed a/c, had non-power drum brakes, no p/s or tach. They sold it when I came along in 1973. Dad said he had to beg the dealer to give him $1,500 for it! Actually found his original car right after we bought this car. His original has been sitting a garage about an 1 1/2 hrs away since 1980, but they won't sell and personally the one he has now has better options. I also have a 1967 Mustang convertible 390 4 speed that I've done some restoring on (mechanical), it needs sheet metal, but it's a good driver and 20 footer. The engine is not the original 390. It's Nightmist Blue, white top, standard blue interior, console and rear grille option. The fenders, hood and driver's door have been replaced before I got it and was probably last painted in the 80's in its original color. After doing the Mach 1, I don't know that I'll go as far as the Mach 1 in finishing it. I kind of like not worrying about door dings, rock chips, etc. and just taking it out and driving it.
How do I post pictures? It's asking what URL I want to post from, I want to import from my computer. Thanks,

Great story! I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.
As to posting pictures, I am not the one to advise but I will give you the basics that I have figured out. At the bottom of this reply page is a New Attachment & Browse space. I hit the browse and the computer opens up my files, I then choose pictures and then choose the picture I want and follow the rest of the attachment sequences to upload the picture.
Some of my pictures where taken with too big of a pixel count and I have found that if I send them to myself in an e-mail that my e-mail will automatically resize them for me and when I save them from my e-mail they are now an acceptable size.
Hopefully that helps. Some expert will be along shorty if you need more professional help.

VERY NICE AND I BET THATS VERY CLOSE TO MY FAVORITE COLOR. DID YOU GET A MARTI REPORT? JUST CURIOUS ON THE NUMBER OF CARS WITH THE WHITE STRIPE.

Thanks, I have the Marti report but I don't know that it breaks it down with the white stripe option. It says 1 of 1,566 with Paint/Trim codes. I think Paint/Trim means Paint/Interior color, but maybe that isn't right. Shortly after we purchased it, there was an article in Mustangs Monthly about a '70 Dark Green Ivy Metallic w/ white stripe 428 shaker car and if I remember correctly it said there was 1,477 white stripe cars total. I think the same article said the white stripe was available on all colors when they first came out, but in November or December '69 it was changed so it could only be ordered on Black and Dark Ivy Green Metallic cars.
I don't think there is much difference, if any, between Black Jade and this color. Although I think there's 3 different variations of Black Jade. Somewhere I read they changed the name because people were ordering it in '69 and weren't happy when they received a green car instead of black. Whether that is true or not, I don't know.

I THINK THEY ARE THE SAME MIX CODE IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. I ALWAYS FIGURED THEY CHANGED THE NAME JUST FOR MODEL YEARS. YOU COULD HAVE SOMETHING THERE WITH PEOPLE THINKING THEY WERE GETTING A BLACK CAR INSTEAD OF GREEN. MY 65 IS POPPY RED WHICH HAS THE SAME MIX CODE FOR 69 CALYSO CORRAL ALONG WITH A LATE 70'S F150. ANYWAY CAN'T WAIT TO SEE PICTURES OF THE FINISHED PROJECT. MINE IS IN THE BODY SHOP NOW AND I JUST ABOUT CANT STAND NOT BEING ABLE TO TINKER ON IT ON THE WEEKENDS. HOPEFULLY I WILL HAVE PICTURES OF IT PAINTED BY THE END OF THIS YEAR
