The hood on my red 72 had previously been painted. Much like the rest of the car the hood black-out was painted wrong. Over the next year or two I plan to repaint the whole car, using a base coat clear coat which I'm very familiar with. For this year I've just been wet-sanding the body with 1500-2000 grit & then buffing it out. It is helping the appearance alot but it still needs a repaint to be show quality. As for the hood, the previous owner had re-painted the blacked out hood. He was going for the look of a boss 351, but ran the black all the way over the front edge of the hood. It also had poorly stenciled graphics on the hood saying "351 H.O. RAM AIR". it is not a H.O., but is a real ram air cj. So over the last couple weeks I've been working on the hood paint. Not wanting to paint a lot of not matching red, I stuck with the Boss 351 black-out, I used satin black & satin clear. I also added the correct hood scoop lettering "351 RAM AIR". It's not show quality but in is an improvement in my eyes.

p.s. I've added some pics as well as the work I did on the rht int. door. It was badly cracked and warn, so for now, I cover the whole thing in white Marine grade vinyl. Note the black arm rest. I'm short on money but long on time so this is the best I can do, for now.
