Ok guys here is the question for the day.
I have three shaker assembly bases and one shaker top assembly.
One shaker assembly I know is a 351 windsor unit for a 69 mach 1.
I have a 70 Mach 1 and a Cleveland engine. The two other bases have numerical markings and are 1/2 inch in height different. They are both for a Cleveland as indicated by the donut hole carb opening.
What I need is for someone to get a tape measure out and measure the base for height and let us all know where you measured it from in detail.
I am thinking that I have either a torino base and a mustang base or possibly the rare small block 302 base sometimes installed at dealers for the guys that had regular fastback cars. Note: supposedly Ford made 7 different shaker units, all with different measurements and offsets.
They have markings on them both.
The thick one: measures 4" thick from the outer lip to the bottom. It has two markings: The top marking is a [4] 70142 on the top lip area.
Then under the bottom of the lip it has a marking: [4]70143.

The thinner shaker base unit has: 31/2 inch height, measured from the outer lip to the bottom. It has two markings [4]70071. located on the top ring & [4]70072 located inside the ring below the lip.
Does anyone have a 70 mach with a Cleveland engine and shaker that they could measure the shaker base height for me.?????????????????????????????
Please dont give me the book answer of 6.25 inches or 6.14 inches because there is no way the height could be that thick.
Thanks
