Help with Heater / Ac box
#1
I removed my heater/ ac box on my 69 and have replaced the heater core and repaired many damaged areas of the box.
The previous owner broke out the left lower front corner that a mounting bracket attaches too.
That bracket helps hold the heater box to the fire wall and with out it the heater box will not be secure.

So here's my probelm , the bracket is long gone and there is no way to know where it would have mounted because of the damage.

Can any one help me with a pic of what the bracket looks like so I can fabracate some sort of bracket ? and can anyone take a close up pic of the mounting location so I can remount a home made bracket ?

I have tryed every where this is my last hope , other wise I'll have to wing it .

Hopefully someone with a 69/70 will have some personal pictures for you - I do not.

I did look up 1970 Ford Mustang Heater Box and came up with quite a few examples such as this: http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCatalo...42-3-A.jpg

Maybe with some more surfing you will find a angle that will help you.

For some reason , I have not yet found a decent view of that side or angle, The bracket is the main thing , If I knew what it looked like I could figure it out.

That heater box looks nothing like mine ?

MY 69 DOES NOT HAVE A/C SO I LOOKED IN MY 65-72 FORD ILLISTRATIONS AND THE PICTURES THEY SHOW OF THE HEATER A/C BOX DOES NOT SHOW THE BRACKETS ON IT OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE SCANNED IT AND PUT IT ON. SORRY : ( ... HAVE YOU TRIED THE FORD REAPIR MANUALS FROM 69 ? SOMETIMES THEY HAVE BETTER PICTURES OF THE PARTS YOU ARE SERVICING Biggrin

Well after doing more research , I found that the blower motor firewall mounting bracket is the same as the heater/ ac box bracket.

So this afternoon , I fabracated one did some adjusting / fitting and it's now attached to the heater box. I will be installing the box this wk end after I reinsulate the fire wall.
