That car is beautiful.
Wow what a ride.
Welcome to the site.
There are many guys and gals here that have alot of 1971 through 1973 Mach 1 cars and can help you in any way you may need in the near future.
What plans do you have for your beast?

Hi everyone. I will post more pics soon. Thanks for all the praise about the car. I am planning on just getting things in order with the car first, I bought this off my friend who bought the car about 10 years ago and parked it in his garage and didn't do anything with it. I haven't really been a Ford guy but I was looking for a hot rod and he gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. The car has 60,000 original miles on it. I have the original window tag and the receipt from the original owner buying the car. The mods to the car are mostly the engine. I've been told it's a 351 with 70's boss heads, steel rods, pistons and crank. not sure what cam is in it. It's been drag raced in the past. It has 4:56 gears in the rear. 4 speed Hurst. Sorry if I've misstated anything about the car as I am a Bike guy (sold my crotch rocket to get this toy). This is my first hotrod. My brother is the car guy and has helped me soo much with this. I will definitely be asking you guys questions. That was the first thing my brother told me... Get on a mach 1 website and start reading and asking questions. Thanks again for the praise about my car and like I said I will post more pics soon and start asking questions.
I will share my first fun Mach 1 story with you. I'm sure if some of you are married you can relate.... since the car has been sitting for so long I have been trying to work out some bugs to just even get it running and stuff. so I change the oil in the car and am going to try and start it to run it for the first time since I have gotten it a week ago. I ask the wife to come out to the garage and help me...sure honey....what do I need to do.(figuring the carb is gonna backfire).. I say here is one of my old shirts...hold on to this and when I start the car.. if you see fire throw the shirt on the engine to put it out. She looks at me with one of those wife looks and goes..."are you being serious?????" I don't want my hair to start on fire... lol... I go well keep your hair back then.....Ya ready???? I crank it up and it starts with no problems.... I'm revving it up a little to keep it running and I look over and she's standing there squinting her eyes and holding her fingers in her ears and going it's smoking and it's loud.......lol.... I just busted up laughing....I go what do you mean loud? it's got exhaust on it..... Thanks honey for the help....you can go back in the house now...

God I love my wife! Mine would have been standing there cheering it on, the backfire would have just added some excitement to it all. The noise wouldn't have been a problem either. God I'm a lucky man. You all have fun . JTS 71 Mach1
