Hey there everyone, my name is Mike and I live in Michigan. I own a 1969 Mach 1 sport roof with a 428 cj under the hood. I try to do a little to it every year, I hate to just through alot of cash at it at once. I only have left to do on it is replace the rear end to a possi and I am finally done with it. I am just not a fan of the one wheel peel! I am 38 so I never drove a car like that before and don't really like the rear end thats in it. I am just having a hard time deciding on the right gear for it, I don't drive highway with it so I am not to worried about that. Always open for suggestions and good conversation topics. I will post some pics when the weather breaks and I can get my girl out of the garage! Have a great day all!!!!

Welcome, A 3.50 posi should give pretty good launch with a 428 and still be pretty livable day to day, just a thought. JTS 71 Mach1

Welcome Mike,
We look forward to seeing the 69 when you can safely pull it from the garage.
I agree with JTS71 on the choice of a 3:50 for an generally enjoyable ratio. If you want a little more snap go a bit numerically higher or it you want a little more highway drive-ability go just a tad numerically lower.
Anyway - enjoy the site. Glad to have you with us.

Hello, my name is Patrick and I am from Northern Virginia and I own a 69 Mach 1. I have owned this car since I was 17 and now I am turning 44 and in the process of putting it back together after way too many years of it being at a body shop and nothing happening to it. This will be the second time putting the car back together, first time was when I bought it from the owner of the body shop that had it.
I am shooting to get this car back on the road by the summer time, wish me luck. I will be checking this forum site out a lot for advise and where to fid some parts and techniques to finish me renovation.
Thanks,

Hey Mike welcome to the site. It sounds pretty unanimous that 3.50 gears are a favorite here and I agree too. I just installed 3.89's in my car but have not yet driven it so I am unable to opine on whether I like them or not. However, I have do have a set of 3.50's to fall back on if I need to make a change.
I look forward to seeing some pictures when you get your car as I am also a big fan of the 69 Mach especially the 428's!
