New Kid in Town 73 Mach 1
#1
    Hi,
I am a Ford Lover always have and always will be. This site has helped me already and I look forward to reading more.

Now to the important stuff....the Car.

I just bought this 1973 Mach 1 Mustang at an auction two weeks ago. She needs lots of love and I plan to restore her.

The reason her condition bothers me so badly is because my father bought this exact car for me in 1994 when I was 14 years old. He taught me how to change my oil, polish heads, and all about gear-head stuff (for a girl anyway). This mustang is a Q code, and I loved going fast; my dad caught me coming down the road sideways when I was 17 and that was that. Within a week, she was sold. He didn't want me to hurt myself. Long story short, he died two years later. I have been tracking this mustang for 10 years and the owner would not sell it to me. Sadly the owner past away and his estate was auctioned off. I was the first person in line, and took her home. I am so proud to own her again after 15 years.

Thats my story....if you are reading this thanks for taking the time to learn about why this car was and is my first love.

:) Raven

PS Don't judge me on the wheels...I hate them too HA HA

Cool story, I got caught smoking the tires on my mothers 71" 429 Thunderbird. Gears It looked like US 30 Drag Strip, Dad said I didn't know my old Thunderbird would do that. I snickered and said Dad there's alot of things you don't know about your Thunderbird! Now I wish he was just Here! Good luck on the restore ask any and all questions we'll be glad to help. Hi Raven,

That is a real nice story and I am not surprised your father sold the car after experiencing you driving down the street sideways. It is hard to believe you were able to track this car for all these years and regain ownership as well. She still looks in pretty decent condition. My first car was a 70 Monte Carlo, with a factory speed. As much as I would love to see that car again, I am now a No Turning Back Ford Fanatic.

Welcome to the Club and please keep us updated on your restoration plans and progress.

Mike

Welcome Raven,

Great story and way to stay in touch with the car! A memory that you can now touch from you and your dad's time together. Got to love that.

Great to hear you have good taste and will be moving on to some real wheels. Pray

Jump on in and make yourself right at home.
