I have parked where you have parked.
Amazing that there had not been an answer forth coming on why the problems with the Z-bar and manifolds.
I hear there is a big difference between the competition and the super competition headers on fitment.
Anyway - keep us posted.
Steve,
Should I just pop and get Super Comps.....Have you heard they fit better??? I didn't get time to get them in, I worked on my Windows in my 50 COE today, and yesterday, I took 2nd at the 60th Annual Hamilton Antique Car Parade.......

Congratulations!
I don't know that I have any personal experience to recommend one way or the other but what I have been told personally is that the Super Competition fit like they are purpose made while the competition fit the one size fit most category.
I did use Super Competition on my 1969 Mach 1 back in the eighties but that was because they did not make a competition set at that time for a 390 FE in a 69. My Super Competition fit perfectly.

Interesting. Thanks for documenting the facts.
It is amazing to me that a company wants you to pay $275.00 (150%) more just for them to make something fit right! To me that is like the Post Office wanting you to pay insurance to insure that they do their job and deliver your post.
Here's hoping that the Doug's fit with the Z-bar without any hammer work. Let us know.

Ditto Steve! It's robbery except you don't go to jail for it. Good luck with the Doug's...I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!
