Noobie in da' house!
#1
Hello everyone!

Well I just about have in my possession one of my childhood dream cars: a 1969 Mustang Mach 1. It's a numbers matching car that was offered to me from my wife's uncle, one that he's had garaged for the last 20yrs. I will be taking possession within the next couple weeks as I clear out room in my storage unit. I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse, and though he offered me a choice of the Mach 1 or the Shelby (included a couple pics) I couldn't come up with enough scratch for the GT500 Sad

Some quick facts:

numbers matching car
390 w/full rebuild (will document in new thread)
C4 Auto
Original Indian Red Metallic
Life spent in PNW
No collisions/wrecks/dents/rust....only minor patina on roof & trunk
Minty interior w/only some minor wear on driver seat

Immediate Plans:

Install drivetrain and new mandrel bent 2.25 exhaust
Find a proper set of 15" or 16" aftermarket wheels

Future plans:

Convert to Tremec TKO manual tranny
Coilover suspension
4-wheel disc brake conversion

About me:

40+yrs old Seattle native
first car was '70 1/2 SS Camaro
'81 Z28
Datsun minitrucks
multiple VW Rabbit, Golf, and Jetta show cars
Ironically, I just paid off my Lexus and was given permission by the wife to p/u a Porsche 996 C4S when the Mach 1 presented itself.

Onto some pics from last weekend. These are pretty dusty pics!

Thanks. I am anxious to get the drivetrain in and wash/wax/detail it up! The Shelby was appraised for $125k prior to him rebuilding the 427, but he would've sold it to me for far, far less. Yet even that "family" price was too much for me and I would have felt like I was taking advantage of him. Either way, I'll still get to take it for a spin now & then ;)
