Long Brake Line Question Lenth & Thread Size
#1
Question
On a 1971 Sportsroof/ Mach 1 car w/ power disk brakes what is the full lenth in inches of the long brake line that goes from the front distribution block to rear brakes of the car?

I will need the appx lenth of the line un-bent as I will buy a straight line and bend it myself. ( they come in 50" , 60" 72" , etc lenths and am not sure what to buy)

Also what is the diameter of the tube and the thread size on the fittings on each end?

I looked in my manual but the info is not there

Thank you in advance for any info

Sorry - I do not have the answer to that one either.

If my car was right outside ... someday!

Currently my Mach 1 is in Arizona and I am not.

Before the pre-bent one pc one became available you had to use multiple lines connected to gether.

I dont have the size either but even if you are going to bend your own, you should have an original as a pattern.
It snakes around to and from the tunnel. Plus some areas have road debris protection.

If you don't have the original, you and follow the fuel vapor line thru the tunnel

Line size is very common / standard
I'm thinking it was 3/16 [ double check this ] fittings will be on the lines already

Don, doesn't Machman have various options of buying pre-bent replacements if he would like?

I have the original lines still out of my 72 set aside in the storage area. If you still need the dimensions and any photos of the lines let me know. One item I noticed with my replacement Classic Tube lines is the rear routing is not 100% the same as my factory routing was. Let me know if you still need the information.
