My 1973 Mach 1
#1
Hello all, my name is Justin. I am from North Texas and have been working on my 1973 Mach 1 for a little over four years now. Matching numbers engine/tranny. Engine is a 351C 2bbl, hooker headers, flowmaster super 44s. Still need to put the headliner in, which we are not looking forward to. It has been a slow process, but well worth the outcome. I had a lot more pictures that were lost due to not uploading them to the internet and my computer being stolen.

Most recent project was getting a radio installed, not to say the sound of the engine isn't enough!

I have a lot of photos that I will be adding. Hope to get to know you all and have a good time while learning new things.

Justin

Welcome to the club from Virginia ! I am from south Texas myself but out of state in the military. I look forward to seeing the pics if ya can get some new ones. There are a lot of knowledgeable minds here so poke at them if ya want and feel free to share some of the experiences you had working on the car! Again welcomeSmiliegenerator_test6

Welcome Justin,

Looking forward to the pictures.

I'll venture it was red when you bought it and that it is now yellow.

A very nice looking car.

I am looking forward to learning more about the car and your relationship with it.

Did you start the "restoration" as soon as you bought it or did you enjoy it as a driver for a while?

Steve, when I got it, it was drivable, but not very safe to say the least. Rusted floor pans, carb issues, etc... Drove it a little bit before, but the project started from the time it was brought home. Being in college at the time work was slow. Thankfully we knew people that could help with good quality weld and paint work. Current issues that are being tackled are: leaking accelerator pump from carb, headliner, a stuck distributor preventing any timing adjustments.

Welcome to the site from Virginia! Thanks for posting the pictures. Looks like it was a fairly solid car to begin with. So have you tried soaking the distributor shaft with liquid wrench or WD 40?

Hey Justin...welcome to the club. Great looking car, both before and after. I had a similar situation losing quite a few of my restoration pictures when my hard drive got corrupted. Frustration to say the least. Look forward to seeing more pictures.
