Dang , I blew out the heater core on the car, i planned on taking out the dash to get A/C bezels redone this winter but now I'll just take the lower dash out too and detail it too.
Any advice , i have never had to do this so it's going to be a learning experience.

Yea , It looks like it will be involved ! I watched a U tube video about a 69 cougar htr core being replaced , lots of work.
It will be a winter project.

Yeah mine went out in my 72 mach once, blew anti freeze all over. Do you have all the shop manuals on pulling it apart?

I do have the manuals , but watching that video was a eye opener !
You Litteraly have to remove the whole front and lower dash to get at the heater core box and it will certainly be a winter project .
By the way i found a place that will recore them with american made stuff, yea they are a little pricy but I think worth it.

When I took mine out I think it was about a 4 or 5 hour job. It's not pleasant by any means though. Best of luck with it.

I am looking at the upside to this . I will be able to detail everything I wanted to and hopefully install a new firewall pad and make sure all is well with the wiring , etc.
