Hello all. I am very very very new to Ford cars for starters and im starting with a 2003 Mustang Mach 1. I would like to start with I am an E-5 in the Navy stationed in Virginia and I bought the 03 Mach 1 about 7 months ago but alas I got sent on deployment and didn't get to enjoy it much. I have owned 7 Camaros and figured i'de change it up a bit. I have alot of plans for this car but its a learning process as I go. I will begin starting to work on it within the next few weeks upon my return home. I have yet to see ANY 03 Mach 1s in and car shows in the Virginia area. My hopes are to have this car looking beautiful and pack a punch under the hood also. The car is mostly stock. Torch Red with the standard Mach 1 interior. Has custom rims and tires and I believe it is a catback exhaust. I didnt get much time to explore the car prior to leaving. But other than that should be stock everywhere else. Plans are a custom body kit and paint job. Custom interior with matching colors to the outside with a decent sound system and finally I want to slip a supercharger under the shaker without eliminating it completely cause it wouldn't be a mach 1 without the shaker. I am a newbie to mustangs so I am open to any comments good or bad. I want to learn this car as well as i know my camaros so please dont hesitate to let me know. Also I will be in the Norfolk Virginia area for a few years still so if your in that area possible meet up and whatnot just let me know. Thanks. Vic

Welcome to the site from Northern Virginia and first and foremost, Thanks for Serving our Country.
I saw a red Mach 1 yesterday in Northern Virginia cruising up RT 17, hopefully someone is not out joy riding in yours!
We have two 04 Mach 1's out in the driveway and one is totally stock and the other has some mods, 4:10 rear end, Bassani Exhaust, etc., but we have kept them both stock looking on the outside.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your Mach 1 and your mods sound interesting.
Be safe over there and keep us posted on how your doing.

As the other guys said Thanks for taking care of the rest of us by serving our Country! Now on to the Mach1. There ain't no sissy camaro gonna compare to the Mach. It's just that simple, I've worked on and driven both numerous times. the fit the finish the feel of the Mach. Will put the camaro to shame! Then when you hit the loud pedal, the camaro will be nothing but a fading memory. Good luck and enjoy. I'll consider you a converted Mustang nut. Mach1 style. JTS71 Mach1

thanks for the warm welcome. I will say however I don't think that the camaros I have had would be put to shame too easily. I have had 7 of them all but 1 of them were restores from the ground up and needless to say never lost to a pony. However i do plan on doing some serious work to this mustang and making it VERY unique with a few 1 off parts unlike any other mustang mach 1 has. Also from Rare Pony that red mach 1 you saw definitely wasn't mine cause mine is in san antonio texas right now leaving the shop in approx. 3 days to get its initial cruise around before the long drive back to norfolk va. I will be sitting in my car on the afternoon of the 19th for the first time in over 6 months I cant freakin wait ! I hope to meet any other users in VA. I know for sure I am gonna need help with some of the engine mods and specs and everything for the supercharger without eliminating the shaker. i know i need pulley spacers a lift for the shaker and a few other things but im not sure of the specifics. Anyway look forward to talking with some fellow mach 1 owners on here and sharing the experience of working on another muscle car. All I have to say is GO MUSCLE and SCREW RICE they never stood a chance ;)

Welcome glad you found us. Tell any Mach 1 owners you know about us, we could use more 03-04 owners here.

There are several 03/04's up here in Northern Virginia. Besides the two 04's in my driveway, there are at least two other members here from Virginia. Killer Bee has an 03 Yellow one and VAMach1 has an 04 red one. I've seen a black, orange, yellow, and another white one in my travels around northern Virginia.

cool well im in norfolk i would love to possibly schedule a meet between all of us if possible. Oh and by the way my Mach 1 won a trophy at a car show yesterday which to me is awesome cause i got it for best original domestic for the 1999 - 2012 domestic car class. now what surprises me is its pretty much all original so it was a big win there. I look forward to participating the the Mustang Of Tidewater shows soon.

Congrats on winning the trophy.
I was on the way home from Lake Anna yesterday towing the boat with our Tahoe, and in my rear view mirror I spotted a Black Mach 1 coming up on me (divided highway). I got a quick look as he passed, he had changed his hood strip to Silver and looked like he had chrome wheels. His plate was MACHNESS. That was one of those times I wish I had been driving my Mach!
