Most (all?) of the Mach 1's I've seen have a Mach 1 plate next to the clock in the dash. I'm looking at a supposed Mach 1 online and it says Mustang. Is this common or would this have been an aftermarket replacement?

FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN...THAT EMBLEM WAS ON THAT PIECE FOR STANDARD INTERIORS. FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, THAT CAR HAS STANDARD INTERIOR SEATS AND DOOR PANELS. ALL 69 MACH 1 'S CAME WITH THE DELUXE INTERIOR. EASIEST WAY TO TELL IS CHECK THE DOOR TAG (IF ITS STILL THERE) THE BODY TYPE SHOULD HAVE THE CODE 63C. IF IT IS 63A IT IS A STANDARD SPORTS ROOF. HOPE THIS HELPS

I agree. I believe the script should say Mach 1 for the Mach 1 package. Decode the vin to see if the car is actually a Mach 1. The interior could have been replaced through the years for some reason.
