You got to love it when you can deal with personable people! It will go along way in helping them make the job personal to them and the outcome should be good.
And we are looking forward to that!

I got the rest of the stuff over to the paint shop today, and Bobby already had the fenders sanded down and was repairing the underside of the hood (had some rust pits and a few holes on the underside of the hood's front cross member). He said it's a great hood, even though it had some dingers and small rust holes.

Just got back from the body shop - things are moving right along! The body work is pretty much all done - the painter's planning on shooting color next week. Just gotta adjust a few things before paint goes down..... SO excited!!
The hood's underside is done - that's paint code 'V'- Ford Light Pewter. Looks a little goldish in this light, though.
The body guy worked miracles... my quarter panel mistakes are all but gone.
Now, I gotta finish up the Mustang Steve hinge kit and get them to the painter tomorrow.

You must by psyched that the bodywork is complete and the car is looking great! By the way, your post has inspired me to remove my driver side quarter panel from my project. When I bought my 66 someone had already installed new quarter panels. I don't know why they would put new quarters on when the structure of the car was shot. Anyway, when I put doors on the car they did not align to the quarters. I was able to break the welds on the quarter panels to align with the doors but the driver side has other issues (poor alignment and too much heat applied). I probably can do a ton of bodywork to get it right but have decided to remove the panel and start over. Although a set back for me, but like yourself, I would feel better at the end of the day to knowing it was done right. Keep the pictures coming!!

If anyone needs inspiration then either of your two threads should do the trick.
Thanks guys!
Well done. Congratulations and I can't wait to see the next step.

I just got back from the body shop - things are moving along nicely! This is the most 'back-together' the car's been since I've owned it. The body guy almost has everything lined up (still needs a little tweaking on the door gaps, hood gaps, etc.) and we're almost ready for a last shot of primer.
Shouldn't be much longer before some color goes down.

Looks great and will look even better real soon. Spend the time getting the gaps right. You will be glad you did in the end.
