Im in the process of fixing some issues on my hood trim.
In the photos below you can see what pieces Im trying to remove, I have tried every socket I own from metric to standard and cannot find what will remove the bolts on the back side of these studs! Can anyone help me???
I understand that these might be speed nuts, and if thats the case thats fine but how do you remove them without removing the fenders to get to them?
I've removed the little trap doors and can access the three (3) studs but no socket Im using fits those.

Yes I believe they are speed nuts. I recall I was able to remove them w/o removing the fender but it wasn' easy. This was about five years ago so my memory isn't like I did it yesterday but it probably involved some scraped hands in the process.

ok well Im opting removing the fenders. Ive taken off the top bolts along the hood, the 2 on the bottom behind the rear wheel, and the one inside the passenger door what other ones need to be removed? Does not seem to want to come loose???
I already have the scrapped hands and no luck getting them off.

Ok so I figured out how to get the fender off on the passenger side.
The part I was trying to get to was so easy to get off once I could see it , but Im glad I did it this way gonna give me a chance to clean some stuff below the fenders. Passenger fender off now just got to do drivers side! Sure hope I can get all this aligned like it was.
Anyway what I'm concerned about now is can I get the speed nuts again?? I also need them for the side marker lights. I sure hope so!! If not what do I have to get?
If not what do I do? Will it fit tight again?
The photo below show these stupid studs requiring the speed nuts
Amazing these stayed on so long and were tight!!
Think anyone could use this perfect original 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fender?

You Should be able to get those speed nuts at your local hardware store.
I would love to have that fender!!

I have had use a peice of paper or cloth strip in the socket to take up the space to make it a closer fit . I hope this will help others out . C.L.
