My parking meter
#1
I bought an old parking meter head off ebay about 1&1/2 years ago for the bargain price of $10. I made the post out of some pipe I had and I got a front brake disc from a friend when he did the brakes on his 72 coupe. I had to get the inside of the disc machined slightly to take the post. The bottom lock was open when I got it but I had to pick the top one to get into it. I have taken the insides of the locks out now so I just have to use a screwdriver to get into it. I decided to paint it this weekend and it came up pretty good. It even works Biggrin I have to get a plug for the winder hole and paint the name on the back.

Some before and after pics.

Hey OZ, Have you made any money yet???? I believe here in the States it is actually illegal to own one, just as it is illegal to own a stop sign or any road sign. As they are "Public Property" and therefore owned by the municipalities/local government. I wouldn't panic to much though. I've been in possesion of a Stop Sign for several years, as it leans against my shop in plain sight. They haven't hauled me in,,,,,,,,,,yet! JTS 71 Mach1

PS It looks really good.

That's pretty cool and makes a great addition to a garage or man cave.

Not a cent Dodgy

I don't think they are illegal to own. I think the seller bought them from an auction Sorrydontknow You can purchase roadsigns etc here from scrap yards and sign manufacturers but probably best to keep the invoice in case anybody questions where they came from.

Did another one recently so have two now.

Had a little accident during the process Duh dropped the brake assembly (nearly 9 kg) on my big toe and I was only wearing my chinese safety boots Biggrin Looked pretty horrible, lost the nail after a month. I won't post any photos of the toe, might make you sick Shock
