Howdy all,
I've been wanting to lay hands on a Mach 1 since I saw the movie "Mr. Billion" back in the late 1970's. Just never ran across one until last week thanks to craigslist, sitting less than a quarter mile from my house.
My, or rather my 19 year old son's, new pet is a 1972 Q code car, 351 numbers matching, 4 speed manual. This car had been handed from person to person for 13 years without being licensed for the road. They guy I bought it from had been spending money on it for 6 years.
Brand new red paint, new tires, floor pans replaced, etc... for $4,700
Drawback: no interior at all aside from the dash. The last owner said it had all rotted and he threw it away.
Well, that's the story.
