The lower hose does not have a spring in it, I did get the brakes fixed and took the car out and drove it out to my daughter's about 10 miles away it got to 210 DEG by time I got there the temp outside was around 67 DEG, after about an hour and a half I came home (heater on high) and it came up to 195 DEG,( temp outside 62 DEG) Remember I am running a 160 DEG Stat. I am going to see if I can find a hose that has the spring in it and see if that helps...

I took The Car out for a drive again and it did good temp here 73 car got to 195 so it's getting better, but I blew another brake booster
second one in 2 mos. I don't understand why. Is it possible for the engine to pull too much vacuum? I had to stop and plug the vacuum hose so the engine would stop missing to get it home, any ideas??? This is an aftermarket booster I bought from Gearhead on Ebay.

No an engine cannot pull to much vacumn. Put a vacumn guage to one of the ports you should have 15" to 20" of vacumn. 30" would be a perfect vacumn, Outer space is a perfect vacumn. Let us know what you find. Cause it does seem funny to blow 2 boosters???? JTS 71 Mach1

I looked at the paperwork for this booster and found it is a single diaphram booster, I don't know if that is the problem or not I do know they are cheaply made. I am going to ask they refund my money and buy a much better quality booster that is a dual diaphram booster, hopefully that will fix the problem.

I believe I solved the overheating problem. I got to watching the radiator earlier and noticed small dots of coolant around and along the upper tank where the seam is soldiered (in the brass part)so I wiped them and watched somemore... there they appeared again. Time to replace the radiator.

Yeah if it can't build pressure in the system it will definetly overheat. As pressure raises the boiling point of the coolant. Good deal , now do you go with a oem or an aluminum?? Decisions decisions. JTS 71 Mach1

Super! mark that up as a new place to look when someone in the future has a problem,
Did you figure out what was taking out the booster yet?
