The local law enforcement, in my area annually puts on a car show. The proceeds go to charity. A couple years ago Illinois decided to crack down on non-conforming cars, in terms of safety items. On the weekend of the charity show a number of customs & Rods got pulled over for insufficient bumpers or no bumpers in some cases. Several of the offending vehicles where owned & driven by fellow officers. Since then they have relaxed the strict standards they were trying to enforce.

I met a guy last year that helped me do a top end on my 351 Cleveland. He had been given his dads 1971 Mach 1 and he had the blown 351 cleveland engine out and on an engine stand.
I just happened to have a 1970 429 engine with DOVE heads in great original bore condition at home on an engine stand that I gave him to put in that beast of a car.
I told him that his car deserved that monster engine to wake it up and really show its feathers and fly again someday.
A small block sorta looks puny in that huge engine bay of his.
Plus it was too big for my 70 Mach 1 engine bay.
