Hey all, I'm new to the forums and to cars in general so please forgive what I assume is a basic question. I've seen engines listed as 351 2bbl or 351-2V. Is that referring to the same thing or different parts?
2bbl and 4bbl (barrel) is the same as 2V and 4V. Carburetors use venturi to mix the fuel with the air as the air is drawn into the engine. A 2bbl/2V carburetor will have 2 venturi while a 4bbl/4V carburetor will have 4 venturi. A 4V carburetor can mix more fuel with the air drawn into the engine thus more horsepower.
Hope this helps.
