Hello all, I just picked up a 1971 Mach 1 with the 302 engine. My old man had a nice 1968 289 but was forced to sell it due to the expanding family.(four kids)
I used to love riding around in it and holding the flashlight while we worked on it
Lately, He is the one holding the light while I work on my cars(95 STS-71 Mach 1)
I will be mostly lurking through-out the site and using the search button before I post a question.

Welcome to the Club. It's great that you can work on your Mach with your Dad. Lots of good info here, if you don't find what you need just ask, someone should be able to help.[/align]

Welcome Tecman.
Glad to have you here with us. Those are the best memories to have involved with a Mustang.
Looking forward to sharing in the passion.

Thank for the warm welcome guys!
So much knowledge here in this forum! Right the Mach is wrapped with a car-cover waiting for nice weather so I can work on her. I am looking to purchase a car-port (tent type) so I can keep her out of the elements. Any suggestions?
Love the spell check feature on this board BTW

Tecman - I cannot recommend anything personally but maybe something like this: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/p..._200333893
Whatever you purchase I think you would want to give it it's own floor made out of 2X6 and 3/4" OSB. The floor will keep moisture down and allow the tent to be attached to something to keep it secure.
Nothing worse than trying to protect your car only to have the protection beat it to death on it's way out.
Yes, thank you Joe for the spell checker!

Welcome to the site from Virginia! I bought a tent type car-port about 4 years ago for my 20 foot boat. I has held up better than expected. I don't remember the brand name but COSTCO was selling them. I think it is 8' by 20' and both ends zip open so you can drive through if you want to. It also has two screen windows with roll up flaps. My only problem is that the boat on the trailer is a couple of feet longer than the tent, so the trailer tongue sticks out of the tent. The Costco price was $199.00 back then (Although a few weeks after I bought it they put it their sale book for $179.00). Let us know what you end up with.
Feel free to ask question or give your input on any topic.

Thank you all for the suggestions!
Rare Pony, I will have to check out what Costco soon. The only problem I have with going there is that I always end up buying everything except the thing I went for in the first place lol.
Steven Harris,That is the type I am looking for and thank you for the heads up about protection from my protection. The car-port will be set on 3/4 asphalt and 1/4 grass with OSB over it.

I know what you mean about Costco; I always end up with more than I was looking for. Actually that's how I bought the tent car-port, wasn't looking for it but thought it was better than the canvas covers I was replacing every 3/4 years.
