2012 Shelby Time!
#1
Has anyone noticed that a 2012 Shelby must take up a lot of time?SCo_hmmthink

Mind you I would no doubt have suffered an even worse bite reaction but I have noticed that our beloved Mach 1 Administrator must be out really enjoying his new 2012 Shelby!Gears

Here's to Joe and his 2012 Shelby enjoyment - may you never recover!Smiliegenerator_test6

Actually, I just wanted to say that you are appreciated and that your presence is missed while you are away enjoying your new Shelby.

Thanks for making this place happen.SSig_goodjob

I'm still here all the time! Biggrin Mostly I stay a little silent to see how this site goes if I'm not prodding it every minute. However I am a little more busy than normal with Russo & Steele, Barrett Jackson, all the car rally's etc in January. As you know Steven we squeeze as much as possible into a short few months before it becomes 115 here in Phoenix. Notallthere

I also drove with 2 friends from Phoenix to Broken Arrow Oklahoma (2400 miles round trip) so my friend Andy could pick up his 2010 Shelby GT500. He paid 35k for a black with grabber blue stripes one with 39000 miles. That was an adventure! Ive started a trend with my car club. I'm also in the process of trying to get a my local Arizona Mustang website going. AzPonys.com Also somewhere with all my playing I'm trying to make a few bucks. 578254

Ill never go anywhere from this site, and even though I might not post all the time, I will never go away from here. In fact stay tuned I have a bunch more Mach 1 things coming soon!

Just goes to show how observant I am.

I just visited and joined up over at AzPonys.com

I have been in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma a couple of times. Never to pick up a Shelby GT500 though. That would have been a fun trip.

Anyway - thank you for all the time you devote to these sites.

Did you guys catch the new issue of HOTROD magazine??? Shelby gt 500 on the cover new for 2013 650hp and 200mph STOCK!!!! How sweet is that?? They claim most powerful factory v8 ever produced. That would definately be a fun ride.

I'm always amazed at how Joe finds the time to find, preview, and post all the Mach 1 and Mustang related info and videos that he does! So he deserves a little one-on-one GT500 time! SSig_goodjob

Yes I have read that. The only issue I see is Ive got 550HP and I cant keep the tires from spinning from launch. To me 650HP is to much, I cant imagine launching with 100HP more. Gears If they use the Goodyear Eagle Supercar F1's again that's not a good thing either. Worst tires ever in cold weather.

Well the problem really is, if your in a straight line race its hard to keep the car straight, and then its a matter of traction to beat the guy next to you. Im looking into some Mickey Thompson slicks to fix that issue. But the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires SUCK! The tires spin as if I'm on ice.

"To Joe" Patience "grasshopper" Patience! One must accelerate slowly through 1st gear. The key to this is to be able to control the reaction of HE'S GETTIN AWAY!!! and then to apply just enough throttle in 2nd gear that you don't spin the tires into oblivion, (now your closing the gap!) AAAHHH 3rd gear now we can apply the POWER! AINT LAUGHING NOW HUH BUTTHEAD! We're in serious triple digit territory now! That Porsche is just a fading memory! Wow those flashing lights are pretty. Was having so much fun forgot all about those boys in blue. Why Yes officer this is a Shelby GT500. Yes Sir it is very fast, a drag strip. Sorry I hadn't thought of that, besides I don't know the guy in the Porsche so how could I ask him to go to the track with me. You say I need to figure that out, before me and my pretty little "Mustang" end up spending the night in JAIL! Why yes Officer I understand completely. A warning Sir? Just this once. Yes I will take it home and put it away for a while. Thank You Sir! Thank You! HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!!! Always remember to wave at Policemen with all Fingers!

Just a little fantasy dreamed up by yours truly! JTS 71 Mach1

Actually I'm just jealous!

Sucky tires is exactly why the 632hp Shelby Super Snake lost the acceleration contest between it and the Hennessey Camaro HPE650 and Speed Factory's SRT8 Challenger a few years ago (Motor Trend - Oct 2009 http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coup...omparison/)

If ya can't put it to the ground, the numbers mean nothing. Good luck in your quest for those sticky skins.
