I installed a rear tail light panel on my 72 Mach 1 recently.
Two things to remember for all the readers.
Firstly. The row of small holes under the tail lights can be filled if you have a 71 or 72. They are for the extended bumper panel on a 73. Shame I realized this after paint. I managed to find some small rubber grommets to do the job for me. They are mainly hidden by the bumper so all good....
Secondly......Remember to keep all your old parts until you are completely finished the job. This applies to any job when restoring...more on that later
I trashed the old panel without measuring the placement of the holes for the plastic taillight panel. Can anyone help???
Now remember how I said to keep all your old parts until the job is finished. Here is another reason why. I bought a new Cowl rubber seal. Ford part so never thought of any issue that would arise. Gave my old seal to a mate who was selling a 71 Cougar that was missing one. Anyway the new seals don't have the holes for the pin clips. Easy to fix if you had the old seal for reference. Has anyone got an old seal they could photograph beside a ruler for reference. Cheers again.
Can anyone help???
