1/4 windows weather seals

Hi Guys and Girls,

Greetings from New Zealand.......

I'm currently restoring a 72 Q code Mach 1 and although i took hundreds of reference photos..... I'm missing the one pertaining to the weather seals on the 1/4 windows. Basically my car has wind down quarters and I want to see a close up photo of the top area where the seal meets the chrome strip on the front edge of the 1/4 window. The seal has a small cap or hood at the top that looks like it covers the glass but the seal does not allow this because of its design. I checked my old seal and its the same. I think I have it right but just want to check on another car. Hope someone can help.

How is your restoration project going?

I have no pictures of that part of my car (and my car is not available). I looked in my books but did not come up with any definitive answer for you. Share some of your pictures if you can and that may help answer your question.

We shall hope someone else has some pictures to help or has jumped that same hurdle.

This is a picture with the chrome strip and weather seal removed. There was a rubber underseal on the glass.

Does anyone know who sells that rubber under seal ( goes between the glass and the stainless). I shattered mine trying to remove the window seal.

My under seals were in great shape so I did not try to replace them. Not sure if they are available.

Maybe an auto glass shop has it in bulk
