It was interesting to see the article about Tasca Ford. When I started my automotive repair career in the late 70's, I worked for an independent shop owner who had previously worked for Tasca Ford as a line tech from 1964 to 1970. He left Tasca when they left the Ford franchise and started selling Lincoln-Mercury in 1971.(My grandfather bought a new Montego from Bob Tasca in 1972.) Tasca also sold Panteras from this L-M dealership as well. Anyway, getting back to my ex-boss, he performed many performance upgrades on customers' cars, and actually set up the rear ends on Tasca's drag cars. I began working for Ford at the old Tasca dealership in 1989. At that time, it was Fournier Ford. Bob Tasca's L-M dealership was just down the street. Bob Tasca's grandson, Bob Tasca III, bought a stripped-down mustang GT from the factory in 1992, and it was delivered to our dealership. He promptly tore the car apart and made a badass street car out of it. He was just a 16 year old kid at the time, but he had the knowledge and means to build an awesome car. Tasca bought back his old Ford dealership in 1995, and opened several others. They still push performance and offer custom-built Mustangs and performance upgrades up to 1,000 horsepower. As for Bob Tasca III, he is now a professional funnycar driver-owner. Small world!
