I think the discussion is great here. I can tell you I have seen a survivor 73' convertible that had 140 miles on it. The story behind the car was a dealership in eastern TN bought both a 73 Mach 1 and a convertible in blue with white interiors. Both were parked in a garage behind the dealership the day they roled off the truck. Bob Perkins acquired both of them in the early 90's. Ended up selling the convertible in a trade with the current owner inclusing several old Schwinn bicycles. This car reported still has the ford air in the tires and fors oil in the crankcase. I will attach a couple of photos below.

As they say there is always an exception to the rule! It would be great to find one, but 99% of us never will. Would love to see the pics though! JTS 71 Mach1

Thats just plain wild to think it has been untouched in 40+ years it's really amazing! Theres details on this car you just couldn't get on a restoration, no matter how hard you tried, Awesome!

Emission decal is on the valve cover, not the right side of the cowl. I knew I wasn't seeing things!

For what it's worth, the emission decal on my 73 Convertible 6 cyl is on the same side of the engine.
