Just wanted to say hello to everyone here. Very excited to be a new member. My dream car has always been a '71-73 Mach 1 and I can finally say I now have one. The car does have rust underside but I got it at a good price. Will be developing a plan with a local shop to restore the car over the next 3-5 years. Looking forward to visiting and learning.

Awesome David! Glad we got your registration worked out, enjoyed talking to you on the phone today as well. Just to spread some extra info on David, he works for FoMoCo.
Great to have you here! Your Mach1 looks very solid in the picture.
Are you planning on a return to factory restoration or a restomod?
Jump on in here man, the more the merrier!!

Welcome David!
Glad to have you here with us. Thanks for sharing the picture of the car. It looks like a good starting point.
I too am interested in hearing of your plans for your ride.
Anyway, glad to have another 73 Mach 1 and owner along for the ride and a FoMoCo man to boot!

Thank you all very much.
My current plan is to try and restore to original (matching numbers?) as much as possible. I wasn't sure about the color but have already received two compliments on it
. I may keep it silver (wife's first choice too), but the black on the rocker has got to go.
Tomorrow, she goes to a local shop (Bill Ritchie) whose passion is building hot rods:

Take the time to look at "Ritchie's Hotrods" His craftsmanship is flawless. He's going to go over the car over the next few days. Bill will be help me develop a list or plan of what should be done (Short-term, Intermediate and Long-term).
I will be glad to post pictures of the progress of the car as she goes though the steps of restoration.

Livin,
Thanks much. The silver is growing on me. She may very well stay that way. The interior is black and I don't have any plans to change that either.
The undercarriage is in need of a lot of work. That's where all of my time and effort will be going over the next 1-2 years.
