Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I have a 1971 Mach 1 that I've owned since February 2010. I'm currently deciding whether to get the transmission rebuilt or just try to live with a slow transmission leak. I may try and put some Lucas in it to see if that helps. She has 133K on the original transmission. Other than that, she runs great.
I'll figure out this picture thing later.
thanks,
Bobby

Welcome to the site from Virginia! The C4 trans on my 73 convertible has had a slow drip at the tail shaft for several years that I have been living with. I'll fix it soon, maybe this winter.
Looking forward to seeing your pics and hearing more about you and your Mach 1.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes.
Here is a picture taken last winter. I've done a lot to the Mach 1 since I've purchased it. I replaced the aftermarket carb with a Autolite 4300 from Pony Carbs; new tires, fixed various electrical problems, added a Pertronix II, etc. Just the other day I set the idle and timing. More pics to follow.

Welcome Bobby,
Great looking ride. I had those sport wheel covers on my 1970 Torino back in the day. Looks very nice.
As stated by 1969 jimmach, depending on where your leak is located, it may be a relatively easy fix. Your basic problem areas will be #1 - tail shaft seal, #2 - pan gasket, #3 - dipstick tube, or #4 - torque converter/input shaft seal. The first three are simple fixes. The last will require dropping the transmission.
Glad to have you with us.

Thanks everyone. After sleeping on it, I made an appointment for next Monday to get the leaks fixed. I just want to be able to see a dry transmission housing for once.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's ride too.
Bobby
