I have done some reading and found out that all antenna's on these cars were installed at the dealerships. The dealers actually even drilled the holes in the fenders. I have also looked at some pictures that show the hole drilled very close to the edge of the fender. My question is can anyone tell me how far from the end of the back of the fender I should drill? 4 inches, 6 inches? I am guessing about a 1/4 or an 1/8 from the edge just not sure how far down the fender. Thanks in advance!

Mine is 10 5/8" on my 73; this is measuring from the ridge of the fender where the side meets the top. The 69's may be different.

Mike,
Thanks for the reply. Not sure either, from all the pics I can find it looks like its closer to about 6" however, pictures can be hard to tell.

The center of the hole is 7" forward of the point of the fender next to the window and about 1" in from the outer edge. The edge of the antenna base is right on the radius of the fender edge.

Perfect! Thanks again for the detailed picture and explanation!

Hey Bod I just noticed you live in KS, I live in Derby. I will keep my eye out for that amazing 69. I saw one the same color as yours going through Derby a few weeks ago, which is rare to see, wasn't you was it?
Thanks again!

Nope, that wasn't me, we haven't driven it that far yet. Plan to work on the steering and front suspension this winter so maybe we can hit a few shows down that way.

By the way I installed the Borgeson steering kit on mine. I have not had a chance to drive it yet, but it seems pretty nice. I will let you know how it turns out.
