I would rather buy a car from a owner restoration than a "professional" if the proof was in the pudding to back it up.
A professional at best will only do what he is paid for (he is in business) while a personal owner will always go to the nth degree to make sure it is done right.
Your pictures of your restoration process will speak volumes and dollars to an interested buyer. If it has to come to that

Now does anyone know how to heal Kevins broken Heart! Sure hope it doesn't come to that for you. Mine did a long time ago. JTS 71 Mach1

If you were prepared to work with somebody from overseas you could sell it for more. A car in that condition would sell easily for Australian $25 000 -$35 000. It would cost the buyer a couple of thousand to import it so if you maybe listed for around the $20 000 you could get some people over here interested and make more than you want for it?

Your 71 Mach 1 is a real beauty. I think the new (Rebuilt) drive train will really attract the buyers. I doubt if most buyers would prefer the original 302! Personally I wouldn't let it go for under $12500-$15000. It looks very clean I'm sure you have more in it than $15000, but the market is soft. good luck!

Sorry guys, I forgot to update this post. I am definately NOT selling my mach 1!!!! i was able to get another job with a company in my field locally! Everything is going well and looks like I wont have to travel nearly as much now either. The company I got hired onto just signed a contract with a local deisel locomotive engine building facility (general electric transportation) about 16 miles from my house, and I am assigned to that job site for the next 3 years. So the mach is gonna get drove alot more now. Its gonna be pretty much my daily driver this summer when weather permits. I even got to work on her this winter. Replaced the drums up front with a set of disc brakes off a 71 convertible. Replace all tierods, drag link, ball joints, steering box, rag joint......... All the front steering and suspension!!! So thanks for all the comments guys. Looks like i will be sticking around here for a long time. This summer I hope to add rear window louvers and new exhaust from the headers back. thanks again everyone. Kevin

Thank goodness you found a job, and don't have to sell your pride and joy. If anyone is selling there cars advertise in Alberta Canada. Use kijiji.ca The economy is hot here and classic cars are pulling huge $$$$ Also cheap to ship, I could help anyone with that if they want. AND......If anyone can drive a truck, mechanic or welder I can get you a job that pays huge in about 10 minutes. Im seeking 4 class1 drivers right now that start wage is 30+ all shifts can fly home whatever. Hope that was ok to post? The sellers market here is very strong and there are few rust free classics here.

Great news Rocketman - absolutely a must post. Any help given to Mach 1 enthusiast is welcomed. My son and daughter are both moving to Fargo in August. Hopefully they will land a job without too much worries.
Glad to hear Kevin. I am sure that you will enjoy the Mach 1 this summer. It is a very nice looking ride.
